I have been using a wheelchair since 1982. I joined the US ski team in 1987 and have been a member ever since. I have competed in every race for mono skiing out there and have won a total of 160 races and have been on the podium 353 times. I owe part of my success in the last 11 years to Aspen Seating and Ride Designs. I was close to retiring from skiing due to skin issues and a continuous string of injuries when I met the people at Aspen Seating and Ride Designs. I was able to get a precision in my monoski that I had not been able to find anywhere else. With a disability there is a sloppiness between my body, the rig and the snow. The sloppiness comes from not having full control of my core. When I got in my first rig through Aspen Seating, I was fit with more control than I had ever experienced. This company and technology has given me safe skin and connection to the snow and my sport that I didn’t think was even possible 11 years ago. Ride is now integrated into my daily seating system and I have found a new level of comfort in my chair as well.
